Who said anything about March Madness? This month, New York is in a floral frenzy. We’re eagerly looking ahead to springtime with events that flaunt the most beautiful flowers in the city - or perhaps in the world.

Whether you’re a connoisseur of blossoms or you just appreciate a lovely bloom, you’ll have your pick with two breathtaking events that celebrate horticultural spectacles.

The annual Macy’s Flower Show fills the Herald Square store with lush living plants and themed events. Explore during regular store hours from March 24th through April 7th.

Throughout the month, you can also catch a dazzling display of flowers in tribute to the island of Singapore, known as the “City in a Garden”. The 17th annual Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden opened February 23rd and runs until April 28th. Take the train up to the Bronx to get to know some of the world’s most diverse and well-adapted plant species: orchids.
