July 01, 2020 On August 14, take a self-guided tour of “Hope Wanted: New York City Under Quarantine,” the latest installation at the New-York Historical Society. At the height of the quarantine, photographer Kay Hickman and human-rights activist and journalist Kevin Powell trekked across the five boroughs to interview and photograph a cross-section of New Yorkers as they navigated through the pandemic. “Hope Wanted” will feature 50 mounted photographs, personal artifacts related to the lockdown, and 14 audio interviews accessible by smartphone. Come examine the city’s not-so-distant past at the museum’s open-air courtyard, located at West 76th Street between Central Park West and Columbus. Admission to the exhibit is free and capacity will be limited through timed-entry tickets. Face coverings will be required and social distancing will be enforced to ensure everyone’s safety while enjoying the artwork.“Hope Wanted” at the New-York Historical Society
