May 01, 2017 Spring has finally sprung anew in New York, which means it’s time to get out and experience all the wonders of shopping, dining, and entertainment a casual stroll can bring in this great metropolis. We recommend you head down to the South Street Seaport, less than 20 minutes from our Lexington Ave. hotel. Boutique shops abound, from Bowne & Co. Stationers, to Christian Benner Custom, to L.O.L. Kids. Fulton Stall Market and Farm Candy offer some quirky treats for foodies, and history aficionados will adore the South Street Seaport Museum, which chronicles the evolution of the Seaport as a critical part of NYC’s ascendancy to major port city status. Those less inclined to historical analysis, and more inclined to reclining, should duck into the iPic, the city’s first gourmet dine-in cinema, where you can stretch out supine on a plush chair, armed with blanket and cocktail as the latest feature flashes up on the big screen. When your movie is done, if you’re still hungry, there are plenty of options to satiate you, including Brazilian, sushi, and classic American.
